  Battle of the Books Welcome Video

Do you love books, reading and watching students develop a love for stories? If so, this committee is for you! Students from Adams, Rochester, Stoney Creek and ACE help choose the books that they will read and then they work as teams to "battle" in trivia questions related to the books. Live author sessions and special prizes are awarded at the exciting "battles".  Committee help is needed to organize the ongoing preparations and exciting events. Beautification 

Spring flowers, autumn leaves, snowy winter landscapes and summer blooms are what visitors to Adams are treated to upon entering our school grounds.  The Beautification committee is responsible for creating interesting and eye-catching landscapes to welcome visitors to the school. If you love landscaping and like to express creativity, this committee is for you!

 Coat Check & Refreshments

Homecoming is a memorable high school event and this committee makes it possible by providing coat check services and refreshments. It takes volunteers to make sure things run smoothly and the time commitment is limited to setup, help during the event and teardown. It's a fun way to see the kids dressed up for the evening!

Communications

Communications is responsible for promoting events and making sure the Adams community is informed about events and activities relating to the PTSA.

 Gold Rush Fall Tailgate Welcome Video

Work with the Principals to plan and execute the Gold Rush Community Tailgate event. Meetings are short and the amount and duration will depend upon how many volunteers are helping. Template and past event information is readily available and easy to follow.

  Foreign Language 

Support the foreign language departments during Foreign Language Week! Assist the language department teachers in coordinating events to celebrate foreign languages.  In the past, events have included a celebration of international foods, sporting events between foreign language classes and guest speakers.

  Founders Day

Founders Day is a reminder of the substantial role that PTA plays locally, regionally and nationally in supporting parent involvement and working on behalf of all children and families. The PTA Founders Day Committee hosts a celebration and raffle each year.  The event recognizes 3 volunteers from Adams and awards various service honors to volunteers in the Rochester Community Schools.  The committee must put together a themed basket and assist with event preparations. You would work alongside other school Founders Day representatives.

 Fundraising Committee

NEW for 2024-25!! We are looking for a committee to help raise funds for our events and other committees. Examples include donations from local businesses for staff meals, student projects or school activities etc.

  Green Schools Welcome Video

Recycling, tree-planting, Earth Day, Million Shoe March, campus cleanup and Eyeglass Recycle events are a sampling of what this amazing committee accomplishes every year! This Adams committee made up of student leaders and parent volunteers, takes on many green projects. As a result, Adams has consistently earned the highest honor Michigan Green School Evergreen status award.  If you think Green, you are a perfect fit for this committee.

  Legislative Welcome Video

Advocating for our students is the key to making sure they have the best educational experience possible. The Legislative committee is involved in understanding legislation that affects our schools and communicating the impact this will have on Rochester Community Schools.  The committee promotes events that allow our students and parent advocates to encourage involvement in making a difference in the community. The committee has held a successful voter registration drive at the high school.

 Meals on Wheels

The Meals on Wheels program operates through the OPC. Adams is a part of the RCS PTSA team that will help deliver meals a few times a year. Nutritious meals are delivered to homebound seniors 60 or older who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. This committee will provide drivers for meal delivery.

 Parent Advisory Committee

The PAC is an organization dedicated to empowering families of students receiving special education services through communication, education, and support with the purpose of obtaining the finest programs and services available within the Rochester community. This committee informs the school of any special events and/or meetings that are coming up in the district and serves as a liaison between the district and school PAC groups.

  Reflections

Reflections is a National PTA program to encourage and celebrate students in a variety of arts categories.  Students compete in the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Musical Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Special Artists. Experienced artists will review the works for interpretation of theme, creativity and technique. 2021 Reflections is 4/29/21

  Senior All Night Party

The SANP is an all-night event held the evening of graduation. It is a safe event typically held at Dave and Busters.  Committee is responsible for planning the event and is looking for parents of all grade levels to join.  Planning includes: registration, marketing, venue planning, food, entertainment and rentals.   Staff Appreciation

Adams is a great school thanks to our amazing staff! The committee hosts a variety of events throughout the school year (mostly involving food!). The committee generously provides food donations, decorations, beverages, paper goods, gift cards (for teacher raffle prizes) and their time/talents!

  STEAM

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) serves as a liaison between the PTA Council and the Adams PTSA. The team supports efforts relating to STEAM promotion at Adams.  The team assists with the coordination of the annual RCS STEAM Fair and the promotion of the event.
