To earn your PTSA Grad Cord you must:

  • Be a student member for 3 years
  • Be a student leader on a committee for 1 year
  • AND design & implement a project for that committee

 

Adams PTSA Student Leader Application*
Join these Adams PTSA committees as student leaders for the 2024-25 school year.


Students work fairly independently with general oversight from the parent
volunteer committee chair. Projects are student-led and student-driven.


These are true student leadership positions for which Key Club and
National Honor Society service hours can be granted. Senior honor cords
can be earned for graduation. See examples below, but students can take
these roles in many directions!

 

Student leaders needed for the following:


Battle of the Books Committee

Promote the annual Battle of the Books trivia contest by sharing on social media, working the
event, and potentially starting a book club for students.

 

Green Schools Committee

Start a green-related awareness campaign, come up with a project to keep Adams clean and
green, hold a Green Expo at lunch, etc.

 

Legislative Committee

Advocate for public education, meet with legislators, organize school Veterans Day celebration,
onsite voter registration, etc.


Staff Appreciation Committee

Lead creative promotions during teacher appreciation week, favorite teacher contest, etc.

 

STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) Committee

Plan and promote STEAM career fair, host special speakers, lunchtime contests, etc.

 

Welcome Ambassadors Committee

Plan activities for students transitioning to a new school, help at registration, be available during
lunches during first weeks of school, attend school and sporting events with new students, be
tour guides inside and outside of school, plan welcome breakfast/lunches, etc.
